Sometimes it isn’t easy being a Nintendo fan. They can make questionable decisions regarding releases and promotions. However, right now that isn’t the problem I have with them. The problem is the amount of choices that I have to work with right now. I was just starting to make a serious attempt to try and clear out some of my Steam backlog and then that Nintendo Direct came out and messed with all of my plans. Let’s start small and then work are way up.
Now, I have mentioned before on this blog that Kirby’s Return to Dreamland was one of my first Kirby games. now I really enjoyed that game, but I wasn’t really sure if I was willing to get the Deluxe version they were releasing. It might be a nice throwback, but it is a little much to buy it again just because of better controls. There needed to be a little extra for me to consider it and then they announced that extra Magolor epilogue. It looks fun too. That wasn’t even the biggest announcement though. There was something even more shocking than that and of course it was Metroid related.

They decided, out of nowhere, to drop that they are releasing a remastered version of the original Metroid Prime. There was no buffer or anything. I was shocked. Did anyone ask for this? I have no idea. Do I want it? Yes, I do. Again, I am trying not to spend all this money right at the beginning of the year. We just started and already there are two games I want. What’s worse is that I am even tempted to purchase The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild before the sequel comes out, because it is on sale this week. I always used my friend’s copy to play it previously.
You might be thinking that not spending money is simple. And you know what, you’re right. If I really wanted to, I could hold myself back from getting these games. Unfortunately, it doesn’t matter whether or not I spend money, because they decided to also reveal that Game Boy and Game Boy Advance games are coming to Nintendo Switch Online. In fact, they are already here. Do you know what I have been doing in-between shiny hunts all week? I’ll tell you. I’ve been playing The Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap. That’s right, I spend most of my time this week gambling for figurines in a Legend of Zelda game. And yes, I did get all of them. That’s just one game though, there are a bunch more I want to play. I just don’t have the time though.

The worst part is I am running into this problem in February. FEBRUARY. There are still ten months left in the year. We have barely gotten started and I am already wishing that I could stop time. So, Nintendo. I am asking you this from the bottom of my heart. Chill. Let me get some time to enjoy your games so I don’t feel the need to divide my time between a bunch of different games before The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom comes out. That’s all. Have some mercy on my sanity and my wallet would you? If you’re wondering why I am just writing about this, it is because I needed a week to process. I left a bunch of stuff out, but I need to go before my brain explodes. See you next week.
Also, if you want to hear about all of the other things go here. Obviously, there was a lot more that they announced so feel free to check it out.
