Finally…

I wasn’t sure if this post would ever be released. I would always think that it might happen, but it never did. At least, not until now. You may or may not be aware of the fact that I have been doing a bunch of shiny hunts on and off because I have gotten really into it in the past couple of years. I did have an interest in shiny Pokémon from way back when, but I never took it as seriously as I do now. About two years ago, I decided that I was going to do my first-ever soft reset hunt. This was the only hunt I had never done in a Pokémon game. I originally started trying it out with Registeel in Pokémon Shining Pearl, but I eventually got bored are decided to give it up. However, I gave things another shot when the Darkrai event went live. Darkrai is my favorite mythical Pokémon ever and I thought it would be cool to dedicate as much time as I could to hunt for it. So after nine days of non-stop hunting for it, I finally found it and got my first shiny in that game. After that, I didn’t touch the game much, but a few months later I decided to go for the other event mythical: Shaymin. This one was not as kind to me. I would always hunt this thing for a while, take a break, find the courage to get back into it and repeat. I will admit, that some breaks were longer than others. However, I really felt things after a full year went by without any progress. I began to think that it wasn’t meant to be. That is, until last night. I was once again watching YouTube videos when I noticed the shiny mythical appear out of the corner of my eye. I actually screamed when I saw this guy show up.

The hunt finally had an end in sight. Thankfully of the three mythical hunts in this game (I won’t count Manaphy because NO WAY I DO THAT HUNT), this is the easiest one to capture. I actually hope to catch all three in premier balls and so far I am two for two. I just need to hope I get lucky with the final one. That will not be for a while though. However, I have finally finished my longest-running shiny hunt. Thank goodness that one is over. I don’t think I will do another soft reset hunt for a little while since this one took a lot out of me. It was so worth it though. I also got the Gracidea flower in case I ever want it to switch forms as well. I probably won’t end up using it though. I am just glad to have it at last.
